The mod Project Phantom has brought a massive update to the modding scene. The mod creator, Starkku, has finished his homepage, received hosting on ModDB, updated many of his forum threads with new information, and displayed the three sides in their full on the new terrain the mod features.
His new site can be seen here, his ModDB can be followed here, and his forum full of updated information can be viewed here. Starkku also is looking for community input on a new cameo style, which can be found here. Input on the cameos should be taken to his forums.
No newspost would be complete without juicy artwork! Below are montages of each side and a new theater, all of which showcasing excellent work.

Aro, of Twisted Insurrection fame, has been working on a minipatch, much like Marshall's UMP for Yuri's Revenge.
Here's a list of implemented fixes from the current version, and prior versions as well.

Some of you may have noticed that Command & Patch had moved to CNCNZ.com. Sonic and nathancnc had intended to be a small sub section of CNCNZ.com but has since been expanded. It has the same information about the C&C: The First Decade Unofficial Patch v1.03 and the Command & Conquer Gold 1.06b patch. Plus it now features direct access to the recently created Command & Patch Forums.
And don't forget the new site address: http://cnp.cncnz.com.

After many weeks of delays and waiting, the first public release of the venerable Ares DLL is finally available. There are a few download options for Ares: a standalone package or the LaunchBase.
Here's a quick quote from Renegade, one of the coders (and leader of STX):
Enough talk, I know you want the download links, so here you go.
Download LaunchBase
Download Ares Standalone Package
And the features list, if you're not sure what it features.
If you want numbers, there are 143 new tags and 137 bugfixes.
Happy modding, everyone.

Quote:
| We have tested Ares thoroughly for weeks and months, so we do not expect big problems, but if issues become apparent, we will quickly update the files - this is just one of the many reasons we highly recommend using Launch Base to work with Ares. Should there be an issue, LB will detect an available update and offer it to you automatically, rather than you having to check back whether you're outdated. |

Still more to be done around the site of course, always something to do. However, I have been slowly working on a new feature, and section, for the site and that is an improved set of NPatch documentation in web form. This new version will be cleaner and easier to read and understand with better English.
Now, I am not the biggest fan of the NPatch but there is quite a lot of use for it and even I still use it so the new documents should be handy for quite a few people. At least, that's my goal anyway.
So, read on. Not all pages are updated just yet, but keep checking for updates. Should there be anything incorrect or if you have a better explanation, don't hesitate to let me know. Be it via PM, a forum post, email or IM, I am open to ideas.
As always, happy modding.

After a long stint of inactivity, the Editing Source is back up and running again, with a top level domain even. With the TLD comes a cleaned up design, better organized pages, lots of fixed download links and the ever useful tutorials.
Not a lot of new content unfortunately, but with this announcement, I hope some brand new things float our way for another great collection of resources.
However, there are a few new downloads that the previous Editing Source did not have, and that is the ever popular modified DirectDraw DLL and an older set of the XCC Tools.
In addition, we even have a nice new Red Alert 2 map courtesy of EliteGi from the C&C Den.
