Using The Map Snapshot Feature
The NPatch allows the saving of a map at any moment during the game.
Select Map Snapshots in the commands list box and assign it a new key (CTRL + S for example).
Alternatively, simply adding MapSnapshot=595 to keyboardmd.ini will yield the same results.
Prepare It
Run Yuri's Revenge > Main Menu > Options > Keyboard > Interface Category.

Using It In Game
When you press your keyboard combination, the map will be saved in the \RA2\
directory as snapxxxx.map with xxxx being a numeric value starting with 0001. The
file created is a standard .map file, which can be opened and edited with
Final Alert 2.
